Sooo, it's been a long while since I wrote anything here.

Road to Jove just went back up yesterday, so there is that...
(In case you don't know, I am the illustrational part of a webcomic called Road to Jove- we are available for free on roadtojove.com/ , and if you like to support us, we're also on Patreon www.patreon.com/RoadtoJove?ty=… out the rewards, we think they are totally worth it, but there is no obligation to support, it'll still be released for free)

I've also been doing this and that, and some of it might peek out in the near future.

Logged in to Deviantart today and noticed that my "core membership" is about to end in a couple of days.
Feel free to gift me more of those, you crazy lot (I got the previous one from a fan, wohoo-fans!).

Also, if you haven't already seen her work, my partner in crime :iconairgid: is doing almost daily sketches. Go check her out. We are both available for commissions, though I am more of a digital person, and she is more of a traditional person (hint- she paints large canvases, excellent for putting on your walls. I do prints, excellent for dungeons or birthday parties...erhm...or something...)

In regards to commissions-

I do have, most months, at least one slot open for a personal commission.
It is difficult to tell you how much a commission would cost, because it completely depends on the format and topic in mind, but consider 200 Euros as a good startingpoint (simplest of commissions).

If you have someting very simple in mind, the price can drop. If you want to commission me to do an epic battlescene of hundreds of characters that you're writing a book about, or something like that, expect the price to creep up.

For commissioning Natasja, contact her on her Deviantartpage (icon above in text), or mail us on Studio.colrouphobia@gmail.com

Hi Brian, I'm trying to do some process shots of a recent work I got, but it is very difficult for me to do process shots because I do not have a standard procedure.

Essentially, if I have an idea or script/brief

1st I lay the very rough lines of how things are organised on the page/panel.

2nd I either block in rough values of light and dark / OR / I copy-paste things from other places, make them black and white, and add them to my shapes (this is to get a sense of roughness to the values. The idea is NOT to take something from someone else , it is to use textures and/or shapes that will fit in my work.

3rd I will start painting. I will paint on top of everything. The key is- whatever gets you to your goal. have a clear view of how you want it to look in your mind, and do whatever you can to attain this goal.

4th I will do some adjustments of colour and light (for instance, lights in the scene can get pushed by using a slight colour dodge in Photoshop. Shades can get helped by using Soft light and paint a saturated dark).

5th, whatever is needed to finalize it. This might be nothing, it might be adding a texture or doing a filter.

I hope that helps, but to be honest, half of the time I don't work like this neither... it is just the most common way I work, not THE way. :)
